The Miami Hurricanes have returned to National glory following their 31-27 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels in the 2026 Fiesta Bowl. Miami’s a team that’s been fueled by a back breaking rushing attack led by Mark Fletcher and Marty Brown, but last night the Hurricanes did something we haven’t seen in a few months- air out the football.
Numerous times during the ‘Canes rout of the Rebs, Miami QB Carson Beck attempted the home run deep shots, but only one connected. Late in the second quarter, Beck took the top off the defense and found WR Keelan Marion for an explosive 53 yard go ahead touchdown. The second half would continue to be the Keelan Marion show, as on Miami’s final offensive drive of the game, the 6 foot wideout would make two crucial catches in the redzone to set up the cementing score by Carson Beck. As the final whistle blew and Miami emerged victorious, Keelan Marion finished the game with a season high 7 catches for 114 yards and his first touchdown in two months.

Following the momentous victory, I spoke with Keelan Marion on the opportunity to shine under the Statefarm Stadium lights:
“That was the gameplan… Today it was time to air it out and hand the ball off… We take advantage of what they {Ole Miss} give us”
Late in the 4th quarter, Miami had scored another go ahead touchdown after a beautiful catch and YAC by Malachi Toney gave the ‘Canes the lead, but Ole Miss responded with a score and successful 2 point conversion to take a 3 point lead. Now, Miami has their backs on the wall with 3:13 remaining for glory. Earlier in media, Malachi Toney shared with me that in those crucial moments it was a player led huddle fueled by Keelan Marion’s veteran leadership. I followed up with Keelan about what he said to inspire his offensive brothers:
“I told everyone in the huddle we got three minutes for the rest of our lives, lay everything on the line…Three minutes to take it back home…” Marion stated. “I told Carson that I’m hot, I’m ready. My adrenaline is running, I’m feeling it. Let’s go.”
Keelan certainly laid it all on the line, as he’d record 3 targets with two catches, 28 yards and a crucial 15 yard penalty sold to move the sticks and set up the ‘Canes win.
Following the prolific aerial attack from Keelan Marion, the Miami Hurricanes are headed to the National Championship. The ‘Canes will face the winner of Oregon and Indiana in tonight’s Peach Bowl on Monday, January 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
