WEST PALM BEACH – Perseverance is a trait that is built up over time, something Antorey Williams knows relatively well about.

The wide receiver had a light college recruiting process when he played for Palm Beach Lakes. And to make it even more challenging, the COVID-19 pandemic forced him to graduate from high school in a virtual setting.

Nevertheless, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound wideout found a home in North Palm Beach Prep, a fledgling college preparatory program (based in Port St. Lucie, Fla.) that is built to set players up for the future. To top it off, Williams has a strong support system that will do everything possible to ensure his overall success as a human being, which includes North Palm Beach Prep head coach Chuck Cornelius.

“It’s another opportunity to play football again,” Williams said of North Palm Beach Prep. “They have a special program that help athletes go Power 5. They’re also about business, getting the job done. And I have Coach C, a great coach who wants the best for me.”

Looking back at his senior season with Palm Beach Lakes, Williams had a breakout campaign to remember. The wideout hauled in an astounding 115 catches for 900+ yards and 8 touchdowns, while going on to add 25 tackles with 2 interceptions when playing the cornerback position.

“My senior season was the best season I had in all my years at Palm Beach Lakes,” Williams said. “We accomplished so much last year. It was a great feeling to walk around school with a great season and everyone around school talking about the football team.”

Williams (No. 44 overall player in Palm Beach County; 2020 class) was officially done with high school on June 4. It was a bittersweet moment, but it was also a time to celebrate with his loved ones.

“Honestly, that wasn’t something I wanted,” Williams said. “But it is what it is. I was still excited to be graduating. My family was happy for me too.”
