Boca Raton, FLA – We’re live! For this week’s game of the week matchup, we see a rematch of last year’s region semis as the Mitchell Mustangs out of New Port Richey make the cross-state trip to play the West Boca Bulls.
Both teams come into this one 10-2, both district champions. West Boca and Mitchell both bring high-powered offenses as the Bulls have scored 30+ points nine times in twelve games, as the Mustangs have in eight out of twelve, including an 80-0 win on Senior Night vs Anclote.
Should we see a high-powered shootout in this one or will the defenses lock down and keep the scoring to a minimum?
A notable stat is that West Boca defeated East Lake 48-7 last week in the semis, this East Lake team defeated Mitchell 30-8 in the regular season. But are things different now? Can Cayden Thomas prove to be one of the best gunslingers in the state?
Since losing to East Lake and Tampa Catholic, Mitchell has been rolling, as they’re 7-0, including an upset win at Palmetto last week, and a rivalry win at Wiregrass Ranch. What we know about Mitchell is that the mustangs are not to be counted out.
