BOCA RATON,FL.- Breaking News: West Boca Raton’s star Defensive Back, Damon Allen (‘25) announces his verbal commitment to Florida Atlantic University.

Allen announced his commitment today, April 16 via his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

When asked about his commitment to FAU, Damon said:

“I chose FAU because this is a school that truly feels like home. Since I first stepped on campus, I knew FAU was the school for me.” Allen stated. “ I know Coach Herman and his staff will equip me with the best tools to bring my game to the next level. I’m excited to announce that I’m staying home and becoming an Owl!”

Damon Allen is a 6 foot DB from Muck City, FL. In 2023, Damon had a breakout junior season at Palm Beach Central. This past season, he recorded:
42 Total Tackles
7 Interceptions
5 Pass Breakups
2 Forced Fumbles

Damon’s impressive statline fortified the Broncos’ secondary, leading them to a 10-3 record. Allen specializes in press coverage, where he uses elite physicality to stun opposing receivers.

When asked about his play style Damon said:

“After the first time I put my hands on a receiver, I know I won the day.” Allen stated. “Most guys don’t like to get physical, and they begin to shut down. After that it’s all a mental game.”

In mid January, Damon announced his intention to transfer to West Boca Raton High for his senior season. A few days later, FAU presented Damon with his first official Division I offer.

Allen chose FAU over schools like West Virginia, Liberty and Bethune Cookman.
