Boynton Beach, FL- Breaking News: Palm Beach Central’s, Waden Charles verbally commits to the UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA.
Charles, a 6 foot 3 4-Star WR, announced his commitment to the Knights tonight via his social media accounts.
When asked about what led to his commitment to UCF, Waden shared:
“I’m truly blessed to commit to UCF.” Charles stated. “They’ve been pursuing me for a long time now, and the coaches have always treated me like family. I’m excited to be a Knight!”

Waden has been linked to the Knights for years now. After numerous UNOFFICIAL visits to Orlando during the early stages of his recruitment process, UCF officially offered Charles on May 9, 2023.
In the following months, talented route runner announced his verbal commitment to the University of Miami on September 10, 2023. Charles was seemingly a “lock” with the ‘Canes before shockingly de committing on May 10, 2024.

Following Waden’s de commitment from Miami, he made it evident that his recruitment process was “1000% re opened to ALL schools.” UCF once again made a full court press in Charles’ recruitment, leading into an OFFICIAL visit.
Waden locked in an official visit to UCF from June 14-16. Following the OV, Waden sang nothing but praises about his time in Orlando.

When asked about his reflections on his visit, Charles shared:
“My official visit to UCF was amazing.” Waden eagerly expressed. “Like I said earlier, the whole coaching staff made me a top priority. I was welcomed into their family. After official meetings, I love what Coach Gus and his staff are building.”

With the addition of Waden Charles, UCF strives even closer to holding a top 50 recruiting class. Waden is now the 11th verbal commit in the Knights 2025 class, joining his Palm Beach Central teammate Tony Williams (4-Star DB), as well as 4-Star RB Taevion Swint and 3-Star WR Santonyo Isaac.
UCF has done an excellent job of pairing elite high school recruiting with strong portal classes over the past few years. Expect Waden Charles to dominate during his senior season, building into an immediate impact as a Knight.
