Same uniforms, same polo shirt, and same results on the field.
While the Miami Hurricanes continue their all-time run through the College Football Playoff as they’re just four days out of the National Championship game, something else has become just as undefeated as the team has been recently: the superstitions.
Every game dating back to the November 29th matchup against Pitt, Miami has brought out the same swagger on the field with the fan favorite all-white “Stormtrooper” uniforms that have been shining under the lights like they were born for January football.
And every week, the Canes just keep on winning.
Now, the “Stormtrooper” uniforms aren’t just a fashion choice for the Hurricanes; it’s practically a lucky charm. The Canes this season are now 5-0 when wearing the uniform (FSU, Pitt, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Ole Miss), and fans have even joked on social media to not wash the uniforms and keep the luck going forward.
Now this dawns the question: Is Miami wearing the “stormtroopers” once again in their home building for the National Championship? You bet they are.

You would imagine it ends there, and to that I would say you’re wrong. Into the equation comes head coach Mario Cristobal, who also dating back to the College Football Playoff selection show, has shown up to every week media press conference wearing the same military green polo. Not a similar one. The same one. Only a handful of fans on social media have noticed, but the media and local reporters certainly have, and at this point it’s become a weekly tradition unlike any other.

At this point, the Hurricanes 2025-26 season might be riding or dying on the stormtroopers and Mario Cristobal’s polo. What if they come out in white jerseys with green pants? What if Coach Cristobal comes out in an orange polo instead of the military one? I guess we’ll never know because neither is happening.
In raises the main question: Will Miami keep winning? That’s something we’ll have to wait a few more days for the answer once the Hurricanes take on their biggest challenge in the last 25 years as they’ll battle against the #1 ranked Indiana Hoosiers in hopes of championship #6 from Hard Rock Stadium.
As for myself, you better believe I’ll still be wearing the same green Rueben Bain jersey that I got on my birthday back in October. Just keep winning. Go Canes.
