DELRAY BEACH- Our Week 0 superlatives are here! In case you forgot, these superlative awards are nominated by coaches and players and voted on by you, the fans, via our Twitter.
This week, Atlantic High tied Palm Beach County nominations with West Boca Raton, totaling four nominees.
Atlantic High’s winners: Team of the Week, Coach of the Week, Jamelle Murray.
Coach Murray’s squad put the county on notice by shutting out Palm Beach Central 15-0. Atlantic’s defense held strong by giving the Central offense problems throughout the game. One of the key reasons of Atlantic’s defensive dominance was the performance of linebacker, Jayden Parrish (’24).
Parrish recorded 15 tackles, two sacks, and multiple tackles for loss against Central.
Offensively, Atlantic’s run game is going to be lethal this year. Running back Da’Marion Alberic (’24) could not be stopped, as he recorded 115 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown.
Due to the run game opening up, Quarterback Lincoln Graf was able to air out the ball in the second half. Graf recorded over 150 passing yards and a passing touchdown.
Atlantic’s victory over Central proved to be a whole team win. When asked about how he feels post game, Coach Jamelle Murray said:
“Of course It’s being quite a bit of momentum.” Coach Murray said. “Positive momentum at that, just being able to see the student athletes go out and perform and build upon what’s taught is always a great feeling.”
Congratulations to our Week 0 Team of the Week, Atlantic High, and our Week 0 Coach of the Week, Jamelle Murray! Best of luck for the remainder of this season!
