WEST PALM BEACH – The King’s Academy Lions had a great start to their fall football season this past Friday night (Sept. 11).
Led by sophomore quarterback Will Prichard, the home team pulled out an impressive 33-27 win over Lemon Bay. As a result of this victory, the Lions (1-0) beat out fellow victor Jupiter Christian (1-0; 31-18 win over Berean Christian) for our Team of Week 1 honors.
“That’s awesome,” King’s Academy head coach Keith Allen daisy “Still a long way to go, but it’s nice to see our players get some recognition for all of their hard work.”
The Lions achieved a clean sweep of our Week 1 honors, as Pritchard (16-of-28 passing, 281 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception) was selected as our MVP of Week 1 and junior wideout Preston Martin (4 catches, 79 yards, 2 touchdowns) was picked as our Breakthrough Player of Week 1.
Can King’s Academy do it again in Week 2 against Glades Day?
Martin seems to think so.
“You can look forward to our team coming in prepared and ready to play,” Martin said.
Prichard could not agree more.
“We plan to have an all-around conservative game and take care of the football,” Prichard said.
Find out this weekend in our Twitter poll to see if King’s Academy (should it beat Glades Day) or another program gets selected as our Team of Week 2.
