WEST PALM BEACH – The Week 6 bye couldn’t come at a better time for Palm Beach Lakes.

It’s literally the midpoint of this regular season, and the Rams came out of the first half with no blemishes on their record. At 4-0, they have made their case to be the best team in Palm Beach County.

With its No. 2 ranking in tact until at least after Week 7, Palm Beach Lakes can rest on the fact it has won all four of its games in blowouts. Here is how this team got it done.

Week 1: Defeated Wellington, 41-15
Week 3: Defeated then-No. 3/now-No. 5 Glades Central, 44-13
Week 4: Defeated Royal Palm Beach, 34-7 (District 12-7A opener)
Week 5: Defeated then-No. 10 Pahokee, 48-0

In these four games, Palm Beach Lakes has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 167-35. The offense has averaged 41.75 points per game, while the defense has allowed just 8.75 points per game.

As previously reported, the Week 5 tilt against Pahokee was the most impressive win yet for Palm Beach Lakes. Four rushing scores and three passing scores occurred in the game, with end-zone appearances by running backs Antonio Outler (three scores) and Micah Butler (one score), as well as quarterback Tre’Von Taylor (three touchdown passes), among others.

Palm Beach Lakes head coach Al Shipman spoke on the team’s complete dominance in the 48-point win over Pahokee.

“It was a beautiful thing,” Shipman said last Thursday night. “We still have a lot of work to do. But I think we caught Pahokee at the right time. Both teams were banged up a little bit, them more so than us…We just executed better than they did.”
