Team of Week 6: Park Vista

LAKE WORTH – There’s no stopping Park Vista right now.

For the past three weeks – and the fourth time overall this season – the Cobras (5-0; No. 3-ranked team in Palm Beach County) have been selected as our Team of the Week.

Park Vista earned our top honor from Week 6 by exerting complete domination in its 56-0 homecoming win over Santaluces (0-5) on Friday, Oct. 1.

Leading the way in Week 6 was Park Vista senior quarterback Brock Hansel, who had three touchdown passes last week. Two of Hansel’s scoring connections came in the first half, while the third one came in the second half.

Hansel has no problem spreading the ball out to a multitude of teammates in key moments.

Hansel’s first-half touchdown passes were thrown to junior wide receiver Josh Wagenmann, while his second-half scoring pass went to junior wide receiver Aidon Mahon.

Hansel spoke on Wagenmann’s overall potential as a wide receiver.

“He’s a great player with a lot of potential and he will be very good in the future,” Hansel said of Wagenmann.

Hansel also spoke highly of Mahon.

“He’s a very hard worker and he catches everything,” Hansel said of Mahon.

As always, it was a complete team effort from Park Vista.

The Cobras got a long touchdown run early on from junior running back Jordan Clemons. Their defense also recovered at least one fumble in the game.

“We fought through adversity and our coaches had a great game plan for us,” said Hansel, who has just been ranked as our No. 1 quarterback in the Class of 2022. “Our offense had success because of the o-line and we had a lot of big plays on defense.”

In five games played this season, Park Vista has outscored its opponents by a score of 234-15. This means that the Cobras have averaged 46.8 points per game on offense, while allowing just three points on defense.

When a team has success like that – especially one that few outside the team’s circle saw coming – it is no wonder how and why Park Vista has been our Team of the Week from Weeks 2, 4, 5, and 6.

“This is gonna be an every week thing,” Park Vista senior Shawn Estiverne said.

NEXT GAME FOR PARK VISTA: Week 7 at No. 1 Palm Beach Central (5-0) – Friday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
