JUPITER, FLA. – Kickoff Classic festivities are out of the way and we are officially under the banner of the regular season.

One matchup that some are keeping an eye out for is the traditional “Battle of Military Trail”, which sees two schools within ten minutes of each other that are situated on the same street as each other representing different towns in the same county. Jupiter High will be the host this year as they look forward to facing off against the Dwyer Panthers from Palm Beach Gardens.

Dwyer faced off against neighboring Benjamin last week during the kickoff classic week on Friday which showed a 27-7 loss. Despite coming out of the gates swinging at Benjamin, they couldn’t hold it together in the long run.

However, for Dwyer we were shown flashes of potential under the radar stars on the team, Senior Quarterback Robert Green III and Senior Athlete Kayden Freeman made good impressions for the team on Friday, showing that Dwyer does indeed have a fighting spirit.

Jupiter on the other hand, is coming into this showdown with a monuments momentum push after bringing a thrashing to Calvary Christian during the Kickoff Classic week.

We caught up with some of the players from Jupiter who all had great individual performances which lead to an amazing team victory, here’s what some of them have to say about last weeks win and this weeks showdown.

“Felt great being able to open with a dominating win. Being able to see our offense shine and our defense dominate was amazing.” – QB Andrew Embick

Some responded to the possible pressure the team might be facing to succeed this year, Receiver Brandon Hollinger took a moment with us to explain how Jupiter is ready to face such pressure and respond appropriately.

“Jupiter has high expectations, as we are ranked among the top 10 football teams in Palm Beach County. Our players are motivated and committed, showing up to practice every day ready to work. With our chemistry and determination, we expect to look like a strong and cohesive team.”

Both teams will obviously look to win their first official game of the season, while one team plays for the chance to thrust themselves back into the spotlight, the other one will be playing to live up to the expectations of others.

Who will walk away victorious tomorrow night from the Battle of Military Trail? Only time will tell.
