BOCA RATON, FL.- Despite the Hurricane watch in Boca Raton, there was nothing to fear. Tonight (February 3), #20 Florida Atlantic University hosted Tulsa in a glorious conference blowout.
Following a slow start, the Owls took control of tonight’s contest, never looking back. The energy inside the Elly was intense, as the Student Section was bumping all night in support of their team.
Like I previously stated, the Owls dominated Tulsa on all aspects of the court. FAU was shooting from will, carving Tulsa from behind the 3-point arc. Also, FAU’s big men, Vlad Goldin, Brandon Weatherspoon and Brenen Lorient, as well as Johnell Davis threw down massive “Sports Center Top 10” caliber dunks, mentally defeating the Golden ‘Canes.
All five of the Owls starters (Johnell Davis, Nick Boyd, Alijah Martin, Bryan Greenlee and Vlad Goldin) recorded double digit figures, as Davis highlighted the stat sheet with 24.
After going through an intense few game stretch, FAU now extends their win streak to 7 games, improving their record to 18-4. Florida Atlantic still sits atop the American Athletic Conference as the #1 Seed.
FAU will travel to the University of Alabama Birmingham for their next matchup against the UAB Blazers. This Tuesday night Primetime matchup will tip off at 9:00 P.M.
