The “WHAT OFF-SEASON” Summit.

what off season-183
NEP Team

Hosted by XFL Sea Dragons WR Jahcour Pearson (AKA JayPeezy). With the top prospects in South Florida showing off to this camp, it was one for the books. The first of the next big thing, “WHAT OFF-SEASON”. It started with some simple on-field workouts with Coach Simmons and Coach McClary (goldfeet jo) leading the way.

The QBs were the first ones to start their challenge. Ole Miss Commit, Austin Simmons, won the longest throw with 2 throws, 66 and 67. NC State Commit and Chaminade QB, Cedric Bailey came in second with 60 and 62.

Many DBs had some good reps. One that stood out to the team was 26’ STA DB, Jermiyah Douglas. He went against top guys like Josiah Trader and Marcel Williams, and even the host. With good defense, he is one to watch this year at STA.

Not only did Douglas look good out there, 25’ Heritage (Plantation) DB, Zae Thomas had the most reps and made it to the finals against Josiah Trader. Playing strong and fast, Thomas looked good out there. Going into his Junior year at Heritage, he has a lot of potential on that young team. He will continue to help lead the defense next year and we will see more of him.

Finally, WHO WON THE 2K????????

Well, the WR finals were between the new Miami commit, Chaminade WR, Josiah “JOJO” Trader, and Blanche Ely WR Marcel Williams. The point system went 1 for a regular catch but 2 for a one-handed catch. These two did not drop a pass, they went back and forth for about 5 rounds of one catch after the other, still tied. In the end, they decided to split the money, and they each got $750. Austin Simmons ended up with the other $500 for winning the QB Challenge.

Pearson was a great host of the event, and he is excited to keep putting on more. “Something I want to keep doing and give back to the younger generation of football,” Pearson said. “[I’m] tryna give kids another way of gaining exposure while competing against the best of the best” This event was a start to a great thing ahead for him and the whole “WHAT OFF-SEASON” circuit. There is a lot ahead for all the players that were involved and a great turnout. Thank you to all the players that showed up and that were not mentioned.

An all-around SPECTACULAR event put on by everyone involved. I had a blast, and it was great for me to shoot and meet new people. Special thank you to Barry for letting me come out and shoot this spectacular event.
