Breaking News: West Boca Raton’s 4-Star DT Jamar Thompson (’27) reveals that he has narrowed his college recruiting process to a final ten schools.

Thompson, a 6 foot 3, 305 Interior Defensive Lineman from West Boca has been one of the most heavily sought after recruits in his class. Jamar currently garners 39 Division I Offers, and is rated as the #9 DL and #8 prospect in Florida- via ON3.

After a long and vigorous recruiting process, Thompson has finally narrowed the list down to 10. The final dime of suitors- The University of Florida, Nebraska, Louisville, Ohio St, Ole Miss, Texas, Michigan, Oregon, LSU and Miami (FL).

When asked about the process waning down from 39 teams to 10, Jamar had this to say:

“I’m so blessed to be in the position I am. God is so good and I couldn’t be more thankful. This is a moment I’ve dreamed of since I was a little kid.” Thompson shared. “I’m most thankful to share this moment with my family. Without their unwavering support, I wouldn’t be here. Thank you to every coach and school that has recruited me. You all helped make the dream I had as a little kid come true, and I wish you and your program nothing but the best. With that being said this my top 10.”

I followed up with Jamar about what exactly stood out about these ten schools, alongside what he’s looking for in a program:

“I’m looking to build family and a brotherhood. I want to build a good relationship with my future teammates and coaching staff.” Jamar stated. “I want to be the best most dominant player in college football, so I want to go somewhere that I know can help develop me to be my best self.”

Jamar Thompson is one of the most physically imposing players in the greater South Florida area. Thompson uses his 6 foot 3 body to fortify the interior of the trenches. What makes Jamar Thompson stand out from every other blue chip DL in his class is his natural burst off the line. Thompson has a background of playing running back during his youth ball days, and uses that natural twitch and quick explosiveness to blow past any lineman lined up in front of him.

Way Too Early Prediction:

As you can tell, Jamar Thompson’s final ten is the assortment of blue blood programs that every kid dreams of playing for. Two teams that stand out to me the most in his recruiting process is Miami and Nebraska.

For Miami, Thompson is a guy that Mario Cristobal and his staff have pursued basically since day one. With the legacy of producing elite defensive players, specifically on the line, tied in with being in the Hurricanes’ backyard- I could easily see Jamar Thompson to the U.

As for Nebraska, Matt Rhule and his staff have prided themselves on landing blue chip prospects from the Sunshine State. The “FloBraska” recruitment method that the CornHuskers have adopted is spearheaded by 561 alum Terry Bradden Jr., who happens to serve as the Assistant DL Coach in Lincoln.

After revealing his top 10, all eyes are now on when can we expect a commitment from Jamar Thompson. Thompson shared with me that we can expect him to reveal where home is before his senior season.

“I can’t wait to continue on this recruitment process. I’m excited to take OV’s this summer, see the schools, meet the teams and see where home is.” Thompson stated. “If I had to guess right now, I’d say I’ll have a commitment before my senior season starts.”

Where’s home for the physical trench baby from Boca Raton? Only time will tell!
