San Francisco – CA, This is what March is about. On March 27th Texas Tech took on Arkansas in the West Regional Semis (Sweet Sixteen) at Chase Center in The Bay.

The game was fairly one-sided as Arkansas took a double-digit lead early and was in the drivers seat. They led by as many as 16 points in the second half. Texas Tech finished Regulation on a 16-3 Scoring run, behind a game-tying three from Christian Anderson.

The two squads went bucket for bucket in overtime. We were tied 83-all with 34 seconds. Tech’s Darrion Williams hit the go-ahead shot and sent the Red Raiders to the next round.

Texas Tech HC Grant McCasland said, “They came out and punched us good. I kept telling these guys in timeouts that we’re going to win the game,” and that’s exactly what they did.

The statistics in this one were almost mirrored in terms of shooting. However, Tech won the Turnover and rebounding battles, which are the most important factors in big games.

Christian Anderson scored 22 points (Career High) to lead Texas Tech, while JT Toppin and Darrion Williams each had 20.

For the Hogs, Former FAU Owl Johnell Davis scored 30 points and Florida native Karter Knox added 20.

Texas Tech will make their third all-time Elite 8 appearance, and will play No. 1 Florida at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday with a trip to the 2025 Final Four at stake. This is a VERY interesting matchup, will the Red Raiders be able to continue the momentum from this game, or will Florida’s dominance and persistence prevail them back to the big stage?
