TREASURE COAST – This is the first time we will be highlighting the Treasure Coast region as a collective group.
In consultation with a group of coaches from the Treasure Coast – the coaches assisting with any player or team rankings will never be disclosed – we assembled the very first iteration of player rankings for the area’s incoming sophomore class.
What we have discovered is that the Class of 2025 is a specially talented bunch in more ways than one. This goes for our Top 15 players on this list, those who were also considered for it, and those who we have not seen on the varsity football stage yet.
With that being said, our No. 1 overall player from the Class of 2025 right now is John Carroll Catholic athlete Tarvos Alford II.
The 6-foot-2, 204-pound standout has already earned 12 total FBS offers from Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Penn State, Indiana, UCF, USF, FAU, Western Kentucky, Coastal Carolina, and East Carolina.
As a freshman at John Carroll, the athlete/linebacker finished with 63 tackles (48 solo) in 10 games played. The Golden Rams Rookie of the Year added three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one sack this past season.
“It feels great to be recognized as the No. 1 player in the Treasure Coast,” Alford II said. “I wouldn’t be able to showcase my talents without God and the help of Coach [Mickey] Groody and the rest of John Carroll’s coaching staff. This is a very talented list with a lot of them being my friends and brothers. I hope we all succeed at the end of the day.”
Groody spoke on Alford II and how he’s deserving of the No. 1 overall spot.
“He’s a stud,” Groody said of Alford II. “Not sure where he’ll end up, whether it’s at safety or linebacker. It depends on how he grows, but he’s the real deal. Great athlete, but even better person. Good grades, no trouble in school or out, and loves football. He’s constantly working on his craft to get better any way he can.”
