PALM BEACH COUNTY – More than three months have transpired since we released our first-ever player rankings for the Class of 2025.
We have seen a lot of great action taking place this season with our sensational sophomores from Palm Beach County. We have also seen a host of milestone moments take place on the field over these past several weeks.
We have a receiver who is closing in on 1,000 yards for the season. We have a quarterback who has eclipsed 2,000 years on the season already.
And we are almost certain there will be at least several more momentous occasions before this season ends.
With that said, we have a new No. 1 overall player in Palm Beach County.
Let us celebrate Somerset Academy Canyons sophomore athlete Waden Charles, who has risen from his original spot at No. 4 to No. 1.
Charles (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) leads all Palm Beach County receivers with 807 yards to date. He adds 36 receptions and six receiving scores to his tally after eight games played.
On the defensive side of the ball, Charles has registered 56 total tackles, three interceptions, and one pass breakup.
Overall, Charles has amassed seven total scores – one of which came on the ground – and 893 all-purpose yards.

Somerset Academy Canyons head coach Alex Gonzalez marveled about the ability that Charles has to impact any game in multiple ways.
“Waden Charles is a special kid,” Gonzalez said of Charles, who is ranked at No. 10 in the state for receiving yards right now by MaxPreps.
“Everything he’s earned up to this point has been nothing but his hard work on and off the field,” Gonzalez continued. “He’s matured and grown into a great leader for our program, and it’s shown this season he set a goal for himself and his team and it’s been coming into fruition. It’s been awesome seeing him grow before our eyes, and we can’t wait to see what else he does and earns by the time he’s a senior.”
