Miami Gardens, FL.- The big fish was in the building Saturday night.
As you know by now, on Saturday night (October 26), Miami hosted over 120 of the country’s top high school recruits ahead of their Florida Cup matchup vs Florida State University. This was a big recruiting weekend for Miami, as the Hurricanes solidified their status as the top program in the State of Florida.
The recruits surely took notice, as one particular prospect has been raving about his time at the U. West Boca Raton’s Javian Mallory (’26) has been singing the praises of Miami over the past 24 hours. The 5 foot 11, 4-Star running back is a top 250 recruit in the country, ranking in as a top 20 back and a top 50 player in the state of Florida.
Mallory is an absolute bruiser. If he gets into open space, a singular tackler simply can NOT bring him down. Javian Mallory possesses traits like top end speed and quick cuts to play into his “Lightning in a bottle” play style.
Javian has also been one of the most highly coveted recruits in the country, holding 40 offers from some of the top programs in the game. If you can think of a school, I’m confident that Javian Mallory is actively being recruited by them.
One of those suitors is Miami, who put on a ground game masterclass Saturday night. Despite their air raid offense, the Hurricanes tallied over 200 yards and 3 touchdowns in the running game, leading to a 36-14 W over FSU.
Here’s my full post game interview with Javian Mallory following Miami’s dominant win over FSU:
Christian: “Javian how you enjoy did Saturday nights FSU Miami game?”
Javian: “I had a great time at the game Saturday night. I love being down at the Rock!”
Christian: “How would you describe the atmosphere at the game?”
Javian: “The atmosphere was amazing, the fans were the loud, the band was doing their thing, and Miami’s dominant performance put it all together.”
Christian: “How did the visit/game affect your recruiting process?”
Javian: “I don’t think it really did much to affect the recruiting process as a whole, what it did do though was reassure me why Miami is one of my top schools right now.”
Christian: “What was the biggest thing you learned about this team/staff while watching them in person?”
Javian: “This was my second game of this season, and both times I’ve seen a team that plays for each other. Nobody is jealous about another’s teammates success, they all cheer each other on, and I believe that starts with the culture inside the building.”
Christian: “How has being able to watch Damien Martinez and Mark Fletcher dominate over the past few weeks started to weigh into your decision?”
Javian: “Seeing Damien and Mark dominant this season has been wonderful! Obviously Miami has the best QB in college football, so for them to be so dominant in the run game is huge. It also starts with the big guys up front, the offensive line has been playing great this season as well. All of that has definitely been taking into consideration!”
Christian: “Could we be seeing you narrowing down the recruiting process in the near future?”
Javian: “After careful consideration with my family, my Coaches and my other close supporters, I’ve narrowed down my recruiting process to 8-10 schools right now. However, we’ve decided it’s best to keep it internal for now. I could possibly be committed before spring ball, so stay tuned!”
