LOXAHATCHEE – He is a player who has both been flying under the radar in some circles and on the radar in others.
How does both happen at the same time?
Enter Seminole Ridge 2025 linebacker Ty Jackson, who has quietly emerged as one of the best overall players in his class.
For a player who may not say much on and/or off the field, his level of play speaks quite loudly for him in a positive way.
Jackson parlayed his amazing sophomore season (137 tackles; first-team All County honors) into the tune of seven Division 1 offers, including a few Power 5 ones at this time.
Here is the list below:
•Florida State (Power 5; ACC)
•Florida (Power 5; SEC)
•Tennessee (Power 5; SEC)
•UCF (Power 5; Big 12)
•FAU (Group of 5; AAC)
•UMass (FBS Independent)
•Austin Peay (FCS)
Jackson shared his thoughts of the offers he has received.
“I’m just thankful to receive multiple Division 1 offers and some being from Power 5 programs,” the 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker said.
Jackson went on to speak about how his sophomore season went at Seminole Ridge.
“I feel I had a really good season at one point, leading the state in tackles with 137 in my class,” Jackson said. “One of my best moments would be the game against Park Vista (8-7 win in Week 9), where I had a one-handed interception and the game winning field goal block to win by one point.”
Seminole Ridge 2023 alum and incoming Keiser defensive back Evan Jackson, who is the older brother of Ty, spoke of how his overall talent has led to his on-field success.
“Seeing him grow from little league now, it doesn’t surprise me he’s getting the recognition he deserves,” Evan said of Ty. “He’s always stood out on defense and played the game at a high level since a young age.”
Seminole Ridge 2025 quarterback/athlete Dylan Reid echoed Evan’s sentiments in a sense.
“He lets his game speak for him,” Reid said.
For this summer offseason, Ty has attended a few college camps. He spoke on it a bit.
“My summer so far is going really well,” Ty said. “Thankful to meet a lot of great coaches. Excited for what the future holds for me and my team this upcoming season.”
As for what’s ahead, Ty made sure to show his appreciation for Hawks head coach Chad Chieffalo and his coaching staff in helping him get to this juncture.
“Coach Chief definitely has a special coaching staff behind him,” said Ty, who wants to lead the state in tackles and help his team to an undefeated regular season. “They really do care for the team and the growth of the players, especially with most of them being underclassmen. Me personally, I have a great bond with the all the coaches on the staff on and off field. They will go from being the coach during the school day to working out and helping us get better as football players. Then they get in a good game of Madden or Call of Duty after practice. So I’m thankful for all the coaches on the staff.”
We are anticipating a great year for Ty, who could be appearing in the Keiser 7-on-7 Tournament with Seminole Ridge on Saturday (June 24) at Keiser University.
