LAKE WORTH – Park Vista recently hosted a nine-team track meet that it dominated.

The Cobras girls team would come in first place with a point total of 158, while Wellington would be a close second with 144 points. As for the Park Vista boys team, they would post a point total of 203.50 to claim first place, with second place honors going to Palm Beach Gardens with 102 points.

Park Vista, Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington, John I. Leonard, Spanish River, Boynton Beach, West Boca Raton, Benjamin, and Santaluces came to compete with each other on Wednesday (Feb. 28).

Wellington’s Catherine Glenn would put on a show as she took home first place in the girls 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. She also anchored the Wolverines to first place in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

“I just want to improve and make it to the state finals,” Glenn said. “That’s the goal.”

Glenn’s teammate, Tamara Fraizer, took home first place in the long jump and triple jump.

West Boca stand out Kiari Edwards would be a blur as she came in first place in the 100 and 200 meter dash.

“I want to improve my times and make it to the state finals,” Edwards said. “Hopefully I can earn an offer for track.”

Meanwhile, Spanish River’s Sergey Gorban shined as he came in first place in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.

“My goal is to go to the state finals and get a top three finish,” Gorban said.

Boynton Beach’s Courtney Harris had himself a day also as he came in first place in the boys high jump and discus throw.

Palm Beach Gardens standout runner Stephenson Fleuriot took home first place in the 800 meter and 1600 meter runs.
