TREASURE COAST – What you will see in our next-to-last Top 10 rankings this year for the Treasure Coast is crystal clear.
The top seven teams have qualified for the FHSAA playoffs, while the rest of them have completed their respective seasons.
Let us take a look right now.
HONEST IMPRESSION: THREE TEAMS MOVE
Only three changes will take place, and they all involve the teams ranked from No. 3 to No. 5.
Due to last week’s legendary ending of game by Martin County (8-2) in its 27-22 win at the final buzzer over Jensen Beach, it will move up two spots from No. 5 to its season best at No. 3.
As for Jensen Beach (8-2), it will drop one spot from No. 3 to No. 4.
The only other change involves Treasure Coast (3-6), which dropped a 45-6 decision to national powerhouse Chaminade-Madonna in Week 11.
Treasure Coast will drop one spot from No. 4 to No. 5.
Other than that, every other Top 10 team will stay in their places this week.
TOP SEVEN TEAMS ARE IN FHSAA PLAYOFFS
Now that the regular season has ended, we will see a difference in how many teams that are still playing.
We will now be whittling down from all 14 Treasure Coast teams in the regular to seven Treasure Coast teams in the FHSAA playoffs.
Here is a list of where our area’s playoff teams stand at this time:
•No. 1 Vero Beach (9-1): No. 1 seed in Class 4S-Region 3; will host No. 8 seed Harmony (6-4) on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.
•No. 2 John Carroll (8-1): No. 1 seed in Class 1S-Region 3; will host No. 4 seed Cardinal Mooney (4-6) on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. – per MaxPreps
•No. 3 Martin County (8-2): No. 3 seed in Class 4S-Region 3; will host No. 5/No. 6 seed Treasure Coast (3-6) on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.
•No. 4 Jensen Beach (8-2): No. 2 seed in Class 3S-Region 3; will host No. 7/No. 7 seed Port St. Lucie (5-4) on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.
•No. 5 Treasure Coast (3-6): No. 6 seed in Class 4S-Region 3; will be on the road at No. 3/No. 3 seed Martin County (8-2) on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.
•No. 6 Centennial (6-4): No. 5 seed in Class 4S-Region 3; will be on the road at No. 4 seed Melbourne (8-2) on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.
•No. 7 Port St. Lucie (5-4): No. 7 seed in Class 3S-Region 3; will be on the road at No. 3/No. 2 seed Jensen Beach (8-2) on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.
