New York City, NY.- It’s official, Colorado’s star WR/DB Travis Hunter has secured the 2024 Heisman Trophy, becoming the second two-way player in the history of the award to win it (Charles Woodson, 1997). Hunter also follows in Woodson’s footsteps by becoming the first defensive player to win College Football’s most prestigious award since ’97. Travis also becomes a member of an even tighter local community, joining Louisville QB Lamar Jackson (2016) as the second Palm Beach County (FL) native to win the award.

Travis Hunter has been the most electric player in college football throughout his three-year career. The former 5-Star recruit shocked the world on National Signing Day ’22 by flipping his commitment from Florida State to HBCU Jackson State to form the most polarizing trio in the game, pairing himself with QB Shedeur Sanders, and his father, Coach Deion Sanders.

After a more than successful 2022 campaign for the trio, Coach Prime took his talents to Boulder, Colorado to become the newest Head Coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. Primetime promised the Buffs faithful he’d bring in his “Louis V Luggage”, and he more then delivered, as Hunter and Shedeur transferred to CU in the following weeks.

Fast forward to this pre-season, both Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders were considered pre-season locks for the 2024 Heisman Trophy. This duo has played some lights out football across the entirety of the season. As for Travis, he’s been must watch TV every single snap of the game.

In order to truly appreciate the greatness of Travis Hunter, your eyes have to be glued to the screen every snap, because at any given moment he has a very strong chance to make a SportsCenter Top10 Play.

This season, Travis Hunter played a combined total of 1,360 snaps (680 DB, 672 WR)(114.7 S.P.G.) recording:

92 Catches

1,152 Yards

15 Total (Offensive) Touchdowns

31 Total Tackles

4 Interceptions

11 PBU’s

From diving interceptions to deep “BLURRRRR” touchdowns, Travis Hunter can truly do it all, and will surely be an inspiration for the next generation of the sport. Over the past week, the accolades have been filing in by the dozens for Travis, earning the Bednairk Award (Nations Top Defensive Player), Biletnikoff Award (Nations Best WR), the Lott Impact Trophy (Most Impactful Defensive Player), the Paul Hornung Award (Most Versatile Player), the Walter Camp Award (College Player of the Year), and was named as the AP Player of the Year

After securing the 2024 Heisman Trophy, Travis now joins the greatest fraternity in College Athletics. What’s next for the superstar Buffaloe?

Travis Hunter intends to play in the 2024 Alamo Bowl against BYU on December 28, 2024. After that, Hunter will surely announce his declaration for the 2025 NFL Draft, where he will be able to take his talents from Saturdays to Sundays.
