FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Some news ahead of tonight’s matchup against the New York RedBulls, starting goalkeeper Oscar Ustari joins the injured list as Rocco Rios Novo will make his fifth appearance on the season.

The news was broke this morning from the Inter Miami News Hub on Twitter/X as Ustari joins a growing list of injured players who also be out of tonights matchup.

Rios Novo remains the only active goalkeeper on Inter Miami’s senior squad as Drake Callender continues his recovery from a hernia injury, meaning that the team will likely activate 36-year-old William Yarbrough from the reserves to serve as the backup to Novo in the meantime.

Rios Novo joined Inter Miami on loan back in January from Argentine side Club Atlético Lanús, he has experience playing in the United States as he was apart of the Phoenix Rising from the USL Championship, while also on loan from Lanús.

At the club level, the young goalkeeper has all of his competitive appearances in the United States, playing in competitions such as MLS, USL Championship and the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Bringing a plethora of big game experience to the team at such a young age.

Inter Miami agreed to terms with Atlético Lanús back in January on a one-year loan deal with an option to make the signing permanent once the loan deal ends.
