There’s one thing that tastes better than all the food we ate this Thanksgiving- Revenge.
Tonight the Vero Beach Fighting Indians finally got the opportunity that they’ve had circled on their calendars since last year, and that was to take down Dr. Phillips. The Fighting Indians have been an absolute wagon all season, now standing at an unblemished 13-0 on the season, and tonight further proved why the boys in red and white are the top team in the State.
With 2028 QB Champ Monds being sidelined yet again with a shoulder injury, Vero turned to emergency QB Efrem White to lead the Indians to victory. Fast forward just a few hours later and the clock was beautifully running in the second half after 6 touchdowns accounted from their high powered offense. The 4-Star Florida State commit White tallied four total scores on the night, (3 Rush, 1 Pass) while RB Jonathan Hillsman accounted for another two from scrimmage.

Following the dominant 49-25 victory, Vero Head Coach Lenny Jankowski had this reflection to share after the anticipated rematch:
“I wouldn’t even say it was a get back. There was so much that’s happened for both teams over the last year.” Coach Jankowski stated. “…They got us last year, and it was disappointing..but we’re going to take that one game at a time. I’m very proud of our guys.”
Vero Beach has secured the FHSAA 7A Region 3 Championship and advanced to the State Final 4. As the #1 seed in 7A, the Fighting Indians will host next week’s upcoming State Semifinals vs Palmetto.
