Boynton Beach, FL.- “My city means everything to me…”

Over the past five years, Waden Charles became the face of Palm Beach County High School Football. Waden might be known for his spectacular touchdown grabs and end zone dances every Friday night, but the thing everyone loved the most about him was his infectious smile and his willingness to take time to build up others.

Now before his freshman season as a UCF Knight, Waden continues to share the light, by giving back to the next generation of local athletes.

“Being able to host my first ever Youth Camp means a lot to my family and I. I know a lot of these kids look up to me and have aspirations of being where I am now, so giving back to them and showing them there’s more to life means everything to me.” Charles said.

Waden plans to host his first annual youth camp on Saturday, June 21 at his alma mater of Somerset Academy Canyons in Boynton Beach.

When asked about what it means to everyone surrounding the Somerset program, Cougars Head Football Coach Alex Gonzalez shared:

“It means a lot, I am very proud of him and many of our coaches are especially those that had the pro image of coaching him.” Coach Gonzo shared “Waden’s gone from the kid that talked about his dreams and making them a reality. One of those dreams was to have the opportunity to give back to the community he grew up in and hosting his first youth camp is just that. We’re excited as a program and school to be able to be the host site for him and support everything he does.”
