JUPITER – Remember the name: Emonte Brown.

This sophomore running back has been making an impact on his Jupiter Warriors team these past three games. He has scored several rushing touchdowns, including two in Week 3 against the Palm Beach Gardens Gators during the first half of his team’s 35-28 win.

Brown finished last Friday night’s (Nov. 13) game with 17 carries for 140 yards and the two scores.

“Monte had a great game,” Jupiter senior defensive end and tight end Cristian Orth said. “He’s been working hard in practice learning the playbook and its showing. He scored twice and right now has six on the year. But he’s also a great blocker, which is something we as a team take pride in this year.”

Brown spoke with Palm Beach Post reporter Drew McDonald about his performance against Gardens.

“I was just trying to get the ball and run as fast as I can,” Brown said of his first rushing touchdown, which was a 40-yarder to the end zone during the first quarter. “My o-line was blocking very well, and I was just hitting the holes as fast as I could.”

Brown (30 carries, 348 yards, and six touchdowns) is looking forward to Jupiter’s Week 4 against Lake Worth. The regular season finale will take place tomorrow night at Jupiter High School, with a 6 p.m. kickoff.

“We gotta keep working and we can’t get big headed,” Brown said. “We got the dub. We just gotta keep on putting in work.”

NOTE: Jupiter is currently 3-0 and has moved up from No. 10 to No. 5 in our Palm Beach Top 10. Lake Worth will playing its first game of the season on Friday night.
