West Boca Went Into Georgia and Left with 2 Trophies. West Boca made the trip up to Georgia this week and came back with not 1 but 2 7v7 camp hardware pieces and 2 well earned championships. West Boca won both West Georgia and Georgia Tech 7v7. West Boca left Georgia with over 12 wins and beat several strong programs. West Boca does NOT take the off season lightly but always putting in the work. The Bulls opened 4-0 in pool play with wins over Southwest DeKalb, King’s Academy, New Manchester, and Carrollton. That Carrollton win stood out immediately. Carrollton is a serious Georgia program but couldn’t hold the Bulls. West Boca got them again in the Final Four and gave them the belt again…

West Boca beat Carrollton twice on the day, once in pool play and then again when it really mattered and everything was on the line. That says a lot about where this team is right now. The Bulls are not just talented. They are comfortable in big moments, as we’ve been able to see throughout the past 3 years and they’re coming for another state title to make it 3 consecutive seasons ending with a State Title.

That expectation is exactly what head coach Dylan Potts has been building. Potts said “Just competing at a high level and the expectation to win at everything we do,” Potts also said. “In order for us to keep improving as a team, we need to be out here competing at events like these as much as possible.”The offense was the story for most of the day, especially with the way West Boca pushed the ball vertically. Potts also said in an interview, “I would say the ability for our offense to push the ball downfield vertically right now this summer is a key piece to our offense that we haven’t had.”

West Boca has already been known for being tough and physical, finding ways to win. If the Bulls can now consistently take teams up top, the offense opens up and allows for so many options.

West Boca has Trey Moran was right in the middle of it all leading the Charge; Moran, now heading into his senior year, has three years of varsity quarterback experience under his belt and the offense is his now. In the past he’s had to split reps. But now It’s showtime for Moran. Head Coach Dylan Potts said “It’s his show now, no splitting reps, and I fully expect him to go out this year as the top QB in Palm Beach County.” Moran was one of the offensive standouts, along with Anderson Gracilien and Terriel Harmon, who both gave West Boca playmaking ability throughout the day at both 7v7 camps.

The defense had its moments too, which is not always easy in 7v7 built for offenses but Max Reid and Dacoby Wooten were two defensive standouts for the Bulls, helping West Boca come up with key stops throughout the tournaments.

And while nobody is confusing a few summer 7v7 championships with the FHSAA State Title, it still matters. Days like this build timing, confidence, and belief and for West Boca, it was another sign that the standard around the program has changed.
