After a quick stop, West Boca drove down and scored on a Quarterback keeper from Trey Moran to go up 14-0.
After forcing the Mustangs to another punt, Kyle Andrews took the punt all the way to the end zone to give West Boca a 21-0 lead. At this point in the game the momentum was all in West Boca’s favor.
The Bulls’ defense dominated the game as on the next drive, Delorean Airall picked off Mitchells’ QB Cayden Thomas and made a 30 yard return.
This was immediately followed by a one play touchdown catch from Mark Hanniford Jr, who walked into the end zone untouched.
On the next drive, the West Boca defense came up with another interception, this time in the hands of Damon Allen. This was immediately followed by another touchdown for receiver Billy Clancy III, giving the Bulls a commanding 35-0 lead heading into the break.
In the second half we had a running clock and West Boca’s kicker John Farfan made a field goal in the waning moments of the third quarter, and Mitchell was able to get on the board with a connection from Cayden Thomas to Bryce Backus.
The Final: West Boca 38, Mitchell 7. The Bulls defense was able to hold a Mitchell team that came into the game averaging 39 points to one touchdown. West Boca now will host Wiregrass Ranch next Friday. It should be noted that just two weeks ago, Mitchell defeated Wiregrass Ranch 31-14. West Boca’s state championship hopes are clear, will we see them playing at Pitbull Stadium a few weeks from now?
