CORAL GABLES – Here at Watsco Center, No. 8 Miami took on Notre Dame in NCAA men’s basketball action. 

Notre Dame came out on fire, attempting to show UM which team was going to be the top dog of this game. 

But UM quickly shut that down, as it stepped up and started to take control of this game by making it difficult for Notre Dame to put up points. 

What started off as a 17-5 lead for Notre Dame turned into a tie game at 17-17. Afterward, a combination of dunks, three-pointers, and fadeaway jumpers helped UM regain the lead. 

At the end of the first half, UM led Notre Dame 33-26.

Both teams came out at the start of the second half and made it difficult for either team to score. But once the Hurricanes found their rhythm, there was no stopping them. 

The Hurricanes started to leave the Fighting Irish in the dust. And with the clock running out, the home team held the ball to end the game. 

The final score was UM 62, Notre Dame 49.
