BOCA RATON – Boca Raton (20-7) is riding high coming into the FHSAA playoffs against common opponent Park Vista (15-6).
Boca Raton and Park Vista only met six days ago, when the Bobcats took down the Cobras 57-34 in the District 13-7A title game.
Bobcats Freshman Tatyana Campise-Pinkney scored 12 points in district title game, a player to watch.
Only a year ago, Boca Raton was in the midst of a rebuild and finished with a losing record of 11-13.
Bobcats head coach Rod Johnson has them playing great basketball right now.
“After only getting the head coaching job two weeks before the season last year, we had a lot to prove from 11-13,” Johnson said. “Now we are here in Year 2 of me being the head coach at 20-7, and I am so proud of them.”
Park Vista was on a four-game winning streak prior to the district title game loss. The Lady Cobras beat Wellington, John I. Leonard, Stoneman Douglas, and Spanish River, holding all four opponents to under 30 points.
The Lady Cobras are 6-3 on the road and 2-1 at neutral site games. They are no stranger to having to play away from home and win games.
The Lady Bobcats will be looking to make it nine straight games with a win and make a deep run into the playoffs.
The Lady Cobras, meanwhile, will be looking to play spoiler.
This game will tip off at 7pm tonight in Boca Raton at Boca Raton High School.
