Vero Beach, FL.- Wonderful “Champ” Monds IV is a 6’3″, 200-pound freshman quarterback from Vero Beach, Florida, and he’s already proving why he’s one of the top players in the Class of 2028.

At just 14 years old, Champ is turning heads with his skills on the field and is starting to rack up offers from some of the top programs across college football.

Monds’ recruitment started heating up in June 2024, as he garnered verbal offers from Florida State and UCF. By October, Illinois had joined the mix, and after an impressive showing at a Miami Hurricanes prospect camp, Champ added the University of Miami to his growing list. With all this attention, it’s clear colleges are noticing what this young quarterback brings to the table.

Champ was unstoppable during his freshman season. As the starting QB for Vero Beach High, he threw for over 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns. But he’s not just a passer—he also ran for 600 yards and scored 8 touchdowns on the ground. With his combination of size, athleticism, and leadership, whether he’s launching deep throws in the air or breaking loose for a big run, Champ is the kind of player who can change the momentum of a game in an instant.
