DELRAY BEACH – Elevation is a must for Brandon Schabert.

It is the most important thing right now for the 2021 wide receiver, who is coming off a breakthrough junior season at Seminole Ridge.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, the shifty speedster helped lead his team to a surprise berth in the Class 7A playoffs this past year. He had at least six touchdowns as a junior, including two rushing scores in the postseason against Mitchell.

It can be argued that Schabert was the most dynamic player on offense for Seminole Ridge, as evidenced by the fact his impact was even felt by the times he blocked for other players. In short, he can change the game with or without the ball.

With that said, Schabert wants to take his game to the next level as a senior this fall. For this reason, he decided to transfer to American Heritage (Delray Beach) on Monday (Jan. 27).

“It’s a great opportunity to better my education and football skills,” he said of his move.

Schabert will be joining the likes of rising star receivers Camden Brown (2022) and Michael Hall (2021) as weapons this upcoming year for the Stallions. He will be a nice option for Dylan Rizk (2023 quarterback) to throw to when necessary.

This is a great recruiting move for Schabert as well. He currently has two offers from Kent State and Bryant, with opportunities for more in the near future.

And to top it off, Schabert is now playing for the Florida Fire’s 7-on-7 offseason program. He competed with some of South Florida’s best underclassmen in the Pylon 7-on-7 Tournament this past weekend in Orlando.

To sum it up, Schabert has put himself in perfect position to gain more exposure for himself in 2020.

“Florida Fire is a great organization, and it’s going to be so much fun traveling across the United States with them,” Schabert said. “I’m not sure where I want to go to college yet, so I’m blessed to know that the coaches have a bunch of connections and will put in a good word for me.”
