PALM BEACH GARDENS – When Owen Delhomme goes to school tomorrow (Feb. 26), he’ll have something big to look forward to.

Around 9 a.m., he and several of his fellow Palm Beach Gardens senior teammates will have their own signing ceremony. For Delhomme, this is a long time coming.

The Gators two-way player will be inking to Keiser, which has showing him lots of love throughout his recruiting process. He went with the NAIA school over Alvernia, Florida Central, and Trinity International.

“I like how well-organized their program is and the school itself,” said Delhomme, who announced his final college decision on Feb. 5. “There’s so much help surrounding the football players, so its hard not to succeed and graduate with a degree.”

Speaking of his studies, Delhomme said he knows what he wants to major in.

“It’s criminal justice with a couple of extra classes of forensics,” Delhomme said. “So when I graduate it looks good on my resume and I can get a job from the FBI or other law enforcement agencies.”

One thing in particular looks good right now for Delhomme. He’ll get a chance to play at Keiser with starting quarterback Eli Matthews, who graduated from Palm Beach Gardens in 2017.

“All my freshman year I watched him play,” Delhomme said. “I also been really watching his highlights. He played a very big decision in my choice because he can run, throw and keep plays alive. I really feel like he can get me the ball, and the offense is a perfect fit for me.”

Delhomme had a little more to day about Matthews.

“He also has experience now, so he knows what he’s doing and what defenses are throwing at him,” Delhomme said. “I can’t wait to catch touchdowns.”

Delhomme reflected on his senior season at Palm Beach Gardens, which resulted in a Class 8A playoff berth.

“I wish I could go back and have a couple games back with my teammates,” Delhomme said. “I wish they all would have be healthy cause if they were, we would’ve went far. But with that being said, senior year was a great year for the program. I just wished I would’ve contributed more because I don’t feel like I did anything close to my potential.”

One chapter is closed, and another one is about to open for Delhomme. We wish him and his fellow Palm Beach Gardens senior teammates the best on the college level.
