From West Boca to Hard Rock Stadium, Javian Mallory is making sure the 561 is well represented.
Miami true freshman running back Javian Mallory has been named ACC Rookie of the Week following a breakout performance in the Hurricanes’ historic 77-7 victory over Florida A&M.
Mallory made the most of his first major opportunity in orange and green, finishing as Miami’s leading rusher with 10 carries for 142 yards and two touchdowns, averaging an absurd 14.2 yards per carry.
A Breakout Night
With Miami firmly in control Thursday night, Mallory entered the game and immediately showed why he was one of the most coveted running backs in the 2026 recruiting class.
The freshman recorded the first touchdown of his collegiate career on an 11-yard run late in the second quarter, extending Miami’s advantage to 49-0.
He wasn’t finished.
Mallory struck again in the third quarter, breaking loose for a 52-yard touchdown to put Miami ahead 77-0. By the end of the night, his 142 rushing yards led all players despite receiving only 10 carries.
In a Miami running back room filled with talent, including Mark Fletcher Jr., Girard Pringle Jr. and others, Mallory showed that finding touches for No. 21 may quickly become a priority.
From West Boca To The U
For those around Palm Beach County, Mallory’s performance shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Before putting on the orange and green, Mallory starred at West Boca Raton High School, becoming one of the most explosive players to come out of the 561.
During his senior season with the Bulls, Mallory rushed for 1,114 yards and 14 touchdowns on 117 carries, while adding another 147 receiving yards and four scores. He finished his West Boca career as a four-star prospect, ultimately choosing Miami over programs including Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
His dominance in Palm Beach County started well before his senior season. As a sophomore, Mallory rushed for more than 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 438 yards and six scores through the air.
Now, the same explosiveness that made him a household name around Palm Beach County is beginning to translate to the college level.

South Florida has always been the backbone of Miami Hurricanes football, and Mallory represents another local product staying home and making an immediate impact.
Except this one hits a little closer for Palm Beach County.
From Friday nights at West Boca to scoring touchdowns under the lights at Hard Rock Stadium, Mallory has carried the 561 with him every step of the way.
