VERO BEACH – Tyler Aronson has earned many college scholarship offers to date – at least 11 in total.

The Rivals.com four-star quarterback made his decision on yesterday afternoon (July 29) to pledge his verbal commitment to SMU as his college choice.

Aronson spoke on how SMU turned out to be the right fit for him.

“I love the coaching staff at SMU,” the 6-foot-3, 210-pound pro-style quarterback said. “Great people, great city, great environment. Also, items a program on the rise that I look forward to being a part of. It felt like home since the first time I stepped foot on campus.”

Aronson earned his SMU offer from head coach Rhett Lashlee on April 23. He spoke on how his relationship with Lashlee has blossomed over time.

“I have a ton of trust in him to help me become the best quarterback and leader I can be,” said Aronson, who finished his sophomore season with 32 touchdown passes and just five interceptions. “Me and my family have loved him ever since he was at Miami.”

Aronson will have two more high school football seasons left before playing college football at SMU. He is rated by Rivals.com as the nation’s No. 9-ranked pro-style quarterback and the nation’s No. 129 overall player at this time.
