WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – Tonight marked the first weekend of regular season play, for some schools, tonight was a statement game. However, for these two teams it was a rivalry renewed.

After a relatively long struggle from both teams to find the endzone in the first quarter, the Lions broke the seal with a goal-line push from RB Tristian Stewart for a 7-0 lead.

The Lions defense stood their ground on multiple occasions preventing Saint Andrews from finding the endzone.

With the score at a stalemate heading into the 2nd half, it was still anyone’s ballgame.

Late in the 3rd quarter, St. Andrews found them a potential scoring drive until ATH Javian Jones came up with a big time interception at the four-yard line to keep the Lions out front.

The action went pretty stale until a late forced fumble by Saint Andrews looked to change the game, until the fumble got called back and Kings retained possession.

The game looked settled all in and done until QB Joe Dailey found his FB… (yes you read that right… a fullback!) Kosuke Nakata for a game settling touchdown with 3 minutes to go.

Kings put the game to bed after another 4th down defensive stand to ultimately avenge their heartbreaking loss to the Scots in last years matchup.

With that Kings is 1-0 on the season as they look to take on Westwood in Fort Pierce next week. As for St. Andrews, the Scots fall to 0-1 and will be staying home as they take on crosstown rival St. John Paul.
