BOCA RATON, FLA. – In a dominant performance, the Boca Raton Bobcats shut out Stoneman Douglas 53-0 in a game that showcased their prowess on both sides of the ball.

Boca struck first with a connection between quarterback Mason Chapman and wide receiver Jordan Davis for a touchdown, followed by a successful extra point, giving Boca a 7-0 lead with 4:02 left in the 1st quarter.

Chapman then kept the momentum going with a Tush Push, running it in himself for a second Bobcat touchdown. After another successful XP, Boca led 14-0 with 1:50 left in the 1st.

The Bobcats’ defense came up big early in the second quarter, recovering a fumble at the goal line, which Octavius Kilpatrick scooped up for another touchdown. Although the 2-point conversion attempt was no good, Boca extended their lead to 20-0 with 9:18 remaining in the 2nd quarter.

Boca’s offense kept rolling, as Javin Taylor scored on a Wildcat run to make it 26-0. While the extra point missed, the Bobcats’ lead continued to grow. At this point the game looked nearly out of hand and would be a massive task for Stoneman Douglas to get some forward momentum going.

Jordan Davis had himself a night as he added a second touchdown, this time off a punt return, followed by a third touchdown on a pass from Chapman.

By halftime, the Bobcats had a commanding 39-0 lead, with their defense blocking a Stoneman field goal attempt to keep the shutout intact.

The second half saw Adon Elmon score early in the 3rd quarter to push Boca’s lead to 46-0

Later Markeece Johnson capped off the game with a pick-six, putting Boca ahead 53-0 in the third quarter.

Boca’s defense held strong throughout the contest, ensuring the shutout, while their offense consistently found the endzone, resulting in a blowout victory to move the Bobcats to 53-0 over Stoneman Douglas.

Boca opens up their district play 1-0 on the year, with a matchup against Coral Glades in two weeks and will face Spanish River on October 25th in the game that should decide the winner of the district.
