Broward County, FL.- Earlier this afternoon (November 27), Under Armour announced their first wave of All-Americans.
Following more than impressive seasons, two of Broward County’s brightest stars were some of the first listed. American Heritage QB Dia Bell (’26) and Chaminade Madonna ATH Derrek Cooper (’26) were two of the first twenty elite players from across the nation recognized by the company.
Dia Bell, a 6 foot 3 dual threat QB from Plantation, FL. has been one of the Nation’s top signal callers throughout his career at American Heritage. Bell, a verbal Texas commit, is the #12 recruit in the class of 2026 (#1 FL, #4 QB). In 11 games played this season, Dia recorded 2,597 yards, 29 passing touchdowns on a 70.6 completion percentage, alongside 561 rushing yards and another five scores on the ground. Bell incorporates his natural size and athleticism with a canon of an arm to build one of the top dual threat QB’s to come through the state since Tim Tebow or Lamar Jackson. As far as an arm talent is concerned, Dia perfectly places each pass with such precision that only a member of the elite Patriot receiving corps can come down with it.
As for Derrek Cooper, the 6 foot 1 RB from Hollywood, FL. is the definition of the “modern style back” that’s so prevalent around the highest levels of football now-a-days. Cooper is a true multi-purpose back, dominating through carries, receptions and returns all at the highest levels. Derrek Cooper currently holds just under 1,000 All-Purpose yards on the year, alongside 12 total touchdowns. Cooper is one of the top recruits in the Class of 2026, standing as the #22 National Recruit (#2 RB, #3 FL.) holds 25 Division I FBS offers. Cooper’s versatility shinned this season for the ‘Nade Boyz, as he was on the field for what seemed like every snap of the game.
