Jake Retzlaff exploded onto the scene in his breakout 2024, recording just under 3,000 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and a 136.6% passer rating. Retzlaff’s incredible junior season helped lead the BYU Cougars to a 11-2 record, including a 36-14 Valero Alamo-Bowl win over Colorado.
Retzlaff had previously withdrawn from Brigham Young on July 11, 2025 following a proposed seven game suspension due to a violation of BYU’s honor code. Jake Retzlaff’s honor code violation came into relevance following an allegation of sexual assault from 2023. As of June 30, 2025; Jake’s allegations were dismissed, but the school still planned to suspend him for the seven weeks.
Since withdrawing from BYU, Jake Retzlaff’s name has been projected to the Tulane Green Wave. Tulane stands as one of the premier Group of 5 programs in the country. With the addition of the talented gun slinger, the Green Wave immediately gets thrust into serious contention for both the American Conference Title, and the G5 auto bid to the College Football Playoff.
