Rejoice fans! NFL Training Camp has officially started across the nation, which means Miami Dolphins football is back!

Before practice started, the local media brought in Head Coach Mike McDaniel. McDaniel opened his presser stating that Guard Liam Eichenberg will be out for a few weeks with an injury and Safety Ifeatu Melifonwu was placed Melifonwu on the active/non-football injury list. “As tough as a player I’ve been around and It is not a season ender.” McDaniel said.

Newly acquired Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick has yet to answer the media, which is drawing questions from fans as to why since he landed back with the team in late June. With this, McDaniel mentioned that Fitzpatrick wants to play football for the Dolphins before the trade became official. “It is a real good fit based on his skill set athletically” McDaniel said on Fitzpatrick. Coach McDaniel then mentioned Improvement, development and growth as areas that he wants to improve on and for the team as well. McDaniel on going into his fourth year: “For me, I don’t see a world where I can reliably expect people to develop if I’m not developing myself… my expectation is that the team is getting a better version of myself.”

Yesterday, Tyreek Hill listed what he is focusing on for 2025. “I want to see what it looks like when I just focus on football, on myself, and my family. I feel like I haven’t given the best version of Tyreek my whole entire career”, Hill stated. Coach McDaniel on Tyreek Hills comments:

Staying on Tyreek, Tua spoke for the media after practice where he spoke on how Tyreek is making an adjustment in the locker room. “I think there is a lot more vulnerability with Tyreek. “He is talking more with the guys about things on and off the field” Tua stated. Tagovialoa then mentioned that his and Tyreeks relationship is still a “work in progress” after Tyreek’s comments after the week 18 loss to the New York Jets. Tua: “When you say something like that you don’t just come back with ‘My bad.’ You gotta work that relationship up. He is working on himself”.

Fourth year wide receiver Erik Ezukanma was the star of practice today. Ezukanma, who is in a stacked receiver room boosted himself up the depth chart with his performance today by catching a deep touchdown from Zach Wilson and another downfield pass from Quinn Ewers.

During warm-ups, free agent signed cornerback Artie Burns got injured and is believed to have torn his ACL and second year OL Bayron Matos was injured toward the end of training camp practice and was airlifted to a medical center to a medical center. It has been reported that he is currently in stable condition.

This wraps up day one of training camp with the Miami Dolphins. The team will now have to consider adding multiple corners for depth if Burns will be out the rest of camp, and potentially the season.
