Happy Monday Fins nation! Day 5 of training camp practice has concluded. Quarterbacks showed out, along with the defense today! Minkah Fitzpatrick had his first encounter with the local media today as well. Lets get into it!

Monday’s practice opened with Coach Mike McDaniel at the podium. Update with cornerback Kader Kohou is that “he has some swelling, and he will be evaluated in the coming days”, McDaniel said. McDaniel mentioned that he met with new cornerback Jack Jones early this morning telling him to “seize this opportunity and define his name by his actions”. Rookie Cornerback BJ Adams who had to be carted off the field on Saturday’s practice is in concussion protocol and other rookie corner Dante Trader Jr. will return by joint practices with Chicago.  Center Aaron Brewer is now working his way into walkthroughs and will begin practice in the coming days. Safety Ifeatu Melifonwu is returning soon as well.

The Dolphins released undrafted free agent running back Nate Noel to make room for newly signed Mike Hilton. Hilton was assigned number 38 and Jack Jones will be wearing 23.

As practice began, Tua Tagovailoa came out rocking the orange jersey following a dominant showing Saturday. In 11-on-11 drills, Tua and Quinn Ewers surgically pieced up their secondary throughout redzone scenario. Ewers shined by ending the day with three straight touchdowns. Most importantly, Tua has yet to toss an Interception in five practices. Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill continued hitting each other in stride with during 11-on-11’s.

Defensively, the pass rushers continued to find residence in the backfield today, disrupting plays. Chop Robinson has become a force to be reckoned with, recording 3 sacks today. Second year star Mo Kamara had himself a day too, blowing up multiple designed runs earlier in the day. Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. continues to build upon his incredible first week of Camp with an interception on Zach Wilson.

After practice secondary players Jack Jones, Mike Hilton and Minkah Fitzpatrick spoke to the media. “What’s up is mine. It’s not 50-50, it’s 90-10. That’s my mindset when the ball’s in the air.” Jack Jones said. Jones mentioned that he is trying to be calmer on the field as he is an emotional player, he also mentioned while being a free agent, he suspected that he would sign with the team. The same for Mike Hilton as he was signed to the team on Saturday. Hilton said that he “expected to sign with the Dolphins since there was not a lot of interest in free agency”. Next to speak was Minkah Fitzpatrick as this was his first time speaking to the media since he came back to the team. “I’m not really active on social media. Being here doesn’t frustrate me. I had a good time in Pittsburgh, and I am proud to be here” Fitzpatrick stated.

Finally, Tight end Noah Fant was hosted by the Miami Dolphins today. The former 2019 first-round pick who was last with the Seahawks would be a great signing and an extra weapon for this offense. Only 27 years old, Fants youth and experience would have Dolphins fans thrilled, as the offense seeks to go back to the high-flying offense they once had.
