Happy Wednesday Dolphin fans! The team is in Detroit for joint practices against the Detroit Lions.

Players who did not practice are Alec Ingold, Austin Jackson, Kion Smith, Andrew Meyer, Bayron Matos, Jaelan Phillips, Mo Kamara and Ashtyn Davis. The Dolphins offense did have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle back which was great news but both were limited and safety Elijah Campbell was back practicing. Lets dive into the action!

Starting off with team drills, Tua and Achane connected on a deep ball up the sideline. Zach Wilson had two interceptions on the day, every day he keeps working he will keep gaining experience in this difficult offense as he will be sure to get a lot of reps on Saturday. Andrew Armstrong, Theo Wease, AJ Henning and Dee Eskridge had good moments during team drills and 1-on-1’s.

Once 11-on-11’s started, the Lions completing dominated on both offensive and defense. Tua got sacked multiple times, having it be a coverage sack or the pass rush got there too fast. Zach Sieler did get a sack on Goff, getting past the left guard. Dolphin defenders got called for unnecessary roughness. In the last preseason game, the team had 10 penalties that were called and does not equate to winning football. Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown dominated the Dolphins defense. The two time First Team All Pro showed his skillset today all over the field.

The Lions who are known for “taking out kneecaps” and being very physical showed that today on the Dolphins. Through the offseason many have questioned the Dolphins physicality and the toughness of its players and coaches. Until the team decides to fight back and meet the opposing team with being physical, people are going to continue to call the team soft. This is a make or break season, put up or shut up, and even though it is only August, the Dolphins need to quickly figure out not to get punched first.

Early on in practice, pass rusher Chop Robinson got taken off the field on a cart, he then on went on social media and said “it is nothing serious.” Tomorrow the team will be back at practice, hoping to bring a different tone to make a statement.
