The Miami Hurricanes continued their early season dominance on Monday night, as they got past the Stetson Hatters easily, beating them 102-61 from the Watsco Center. Miami topped 100 points for the second game in a row, which is something the program hasn’t done in back-to-back games since the 1989 season.

Stetson maintained the lead early in the first half, but Miami quickly took over like they have in their previous two games. An eventual 19-3 run by the Canes would flip the switch in this game, as Miami would go into the half up 55-36, and would lead by double digits for the rest of the game.

Miami, again led by power forward Malik Reneau, finished with a 22-point 10 rebound double-double, marking the 3rd consecutive game that he’s finished with 20 or more points. Tru Washington also pitched in an efficient game as well, as the New Mexico State transfer guard finished with 17 points along with six boards.

Despite coming off the bench due to a small injury, Tre Donaldson again turned heads, also finishing with a double-double as he finished the game with 15 points and 10 assists.

The Hurricanes dominated in much of every statistical category, and controlled the paint on offense once again, finishing with an impressive team-total of 54 points in the paint.

Coach Jai Lucas and his team will go on a five-day rest, before they travel to Jacksonville as they’ll take on in-state rival the #10 ranked Florida Gators on Sunday the 16th at 8:30 PM on ESPN.
