The first major local Portal move is here, signifying that the off-season is officially upon us.
Breaking News: 2027 QB Max Griner intends to Transfer to Santaluces, multiple sources confirm to NewEraPrep.
Over the last two seasons, Griner was one of the faces of the ‘New Royal Palm’, leading the Wildcats to two consecutive 7 win years+ post season berths. During his junior season, Max recorded the following stat line:
2,659 Total Yards
26 Total TD
124.7 QBR
Max Griner is a solid new-aged QB with plenty of game experience under his belt. While he is a tremendous passer, Griner possesses an almost sixth sense to be able to adjust on the fly and use his legs to make a play.

Max Griner currently holds two Division I FBS offers from Bowling Green and Western Kentucky.
Over the last four seasons, Santaluces has been another program, like Royal Palm, that’s revitalized itself into a County powerhouse. The addition of Griner provides excellent experience and stability under center for the Chiefs. Max joins an offense with a tremendous amount of fire power, as RB Kelsey Gerald (’27) is coming off a 1,000 yard junior campaign, and WR Jarmell Sine (’28) has solidified himself as one of the best vertical threats in the area.
After securing an established QB with plenty of starting experience, Santaluces prepares to enter the 2026 season as the ‘way too early’ favorite to win their newly adjusted District (FHSAA 6A R4, D13) (Wellington, Garcia, Jupiter, PBC, Lake Worth).
