Davie, FL.- One of South Florida’s more tantalizing QB prospects makes big decision leading into his redshirt sophomore campaign.
Yesterday (July 4) NFL Brazil announced that Davi Belfort’s new beginnings at James Madison University wouldn’t just be donning new threads, he’d also be transitioning into a wideout.
“It is true, I have changed positions!” Belfort enthusiastically shares in the social media reel. “It was a very difficult decision, but also an easy one….I was there competing for the QB position at JMU, and I had a very good chance of winning the starting spot. But this decision was for me to make the NFL…I have 3 more years to reach the NFL and it’s going to be a very cool journey. I am very happy to have Brazil with me on this journey and I love you all very much!”

It’s been a wild ride for Davi Belfort throughout his collegiate journey. The former 4-Star dynamic dual threat passer recorded 3,115 total yards and 34 touchdowns during his senior season at Davie Western High, as he led the Wildcats to the 2022-23 FHSAA 4M Regional Final.

Following the end of his high school career, Belfort who held 29 Division I Offers would take his talents to Blacksburg and sign with Virginia Tech. In his redshirt freshman season as a Hokie, Davi Belfort would not see any action and enter the Transfer Portal shortly there after.
Following his entrance into the Transfer Portal, Davi would announce he’s coming home to the Sunshine state, suiting up for the UCF Knights. Belfort would appear in 6 of UCF’s contests going 4/6 for 53 yards and 1 INT as a passer alongside 84 yards and a score rushing.
Davi would record his lone collegiate touchdown in a 45-13 blowout v West Virginia.

The 5 foot 11 Belfort will certainly have a leg up in his early transition to wideout. As the son of former UFC Light Heavyweight champion and UFC Hall of Fame Vitor Belfort, the Brazilian superstar displays an amount of physical and mental toughness that very few could possess.
He’s a D1 QB and a BOXER 😳🔥 @DaviBelfort @vitorbelfort @UCF_Football

Quarterback no more, Davi Belfort is betting on himself. The former blue-chip prospect will now look to turn his athleticism and playmaking ability into production at wide receiver as he chases his NFL dream through a new path. If his football journey has shown anything, it’s that Belfort has never shied away from a challenge. Now he’ll look to make the most of his fresh start at James Madison.
