Wide receiver Makai Lemon has officially reached the NFL stage, selected in the NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. His rise to this moment didn’t happen overnight it was built through dominant performances, steady development, and standout showings in some of the most competitive environments in the country.
One of the earliest glimpses of Lemon’s star power came at the Broward Showcase in August 2022, an event loaded with elite talent tied to the 2023 recruiting cycle. Lemon’s Los Alamitos (CA) squad squared off against Florida’s powerhouse American Heritage in a highly anticipated clash of Coasts. In that game, Lemon delivered a performance that immediately grabbed national attention. He totaled 17 receptions for over 200 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also adding a 97-yard kickoff return touchdown. Showcasing his versatility, he even took snaps at cornerback during the game.
Even beyond the stat sheet, Lemon’s impact was undeniable. As one showcase takeaway described it: “WR Makai Lemon just keeps on balling out even in a blowout loss. He scores his third TD on the final play of the game, finishing with around 200 yards receiving. (247sports)” He also flashed explosive playmaking ability with a 65-yard screen touchdown, and had another 97-yard kickoff return touchdown wiped out by penalties highlighting just how electric he was every time he touched the ball.
Makai Lemon is SPECIAL! Wild adjustment for this catch, ruled out at the one, but @LosAlFootball punched it in just before the half. @getabagkai #fighton ✌️

That performance at the Broward Showcase helped cement Lemon as one of the most exciting young receivers in the country and foreshadowed what he would later become at the collegiate level. At University of Southern California, Lemon turned that early promise into elite production. During his 2025 junior season, he hauled in 79 receptions for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns, winning the Biletnikoff Award while emerging as one of the most productive receivers in the nation. He also contributed to the run game with 9 carries and 2 rushing touchdowns, underscoring his all-around versatility.
Advanced metrics further emphasize his dominance. Lemon earned a 91.3 PFF receiving grade the highest among all receivers in the country while generating 502 yards after the catch, accounting for 43% of his total yardage. His ability to create after the catch made him a constant big-play threat in USC’s offense.
Now with the Eagles, Lemon brings a complete skill set shaped by years of production and big-game performances. From lighting up the Broward Showcase to dominating at USC, his journey reflects a player who has consistently risen to every challenge. With his trajectory and proven ability, Makai Lemon looks poised to make his mark at the next level.
