DETROIT, MI.- “With the third pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select: Drake Maye, Quarterback, North Carolina”.

It’s a new age of New England Patriots football. Following the departure of Bill Belicheck in New England, the Patriots hired team legend Jerod Mayo to become their new Head Coach. Mayo’s first move: get the Pat’s franchise QB. In just five and a half minutes, New England sent the pick in and selected UNC’s Drake Maye.

Drake Maye, a 6 foot 4 gunslinger from UNC stepped into the Tarheels’ starting role for two seasons and didn’t skip a beat. Drake Maye’s size, arm and athleticism drives serious Josh Allen pro-comparisons and it’s easy to see why. Maye was throwing all over the ACC. In his two seasons as a starter, Drake recorded 7,929 yards and 62 passing touchdowns.

In the post Tom Brady era in New England, the Patriots have yet to find a true successor for the G.O.A.T. Coach Mayo’s first move at the reigns was to find the face of the new era of Patriots football.
