Boca Raton, FL.– It should come as no surprise, but the West Boca Bulls once again defended the South end of Palm Beach County.
Earlier today, West Boca headlined the 20-team field of the Florida Atlantic 7on7 and took Paradise by storm. The Bulls were on fire, earning a 6-1 record on the day due to offensive precision and defensive fortitude. West Boca’s road to defending Paradise included the following slate:
Pool Play Game 1: v Palm Beach Gardens- W
Pool Play Game 2: v Eau Galle- L
Pool Play Game 3: v Everglades- W
Bracket Play Game 1: v Palm Beach Lakes- W
Bracket Play Game 2: v Everglades- W
Bracket Play Game 3: v South Dade- W
Bracket Play Game 4: v West Orange- W
Offensively, West Boca was commanded by another standout performance from rising senior QB Trey Moran. Moran shined today in the air with every game being a multi score affair. Trey commanded the Bulls with poise and precision, throwing with pin point accuracy and limiting mistakes as you’d expect from a senior with 2 years starting under his belt.
Throughout the afternoon, Trey Moran found his arsenal of elite wideouts with the usual suspects of Billy Clancy Jr. (C/O ’27), Jayden St Fort (C/O ’27) Lorante ‘Nomo’ Davis (C/O ’27, Eastern Michigan Commit) and Terrell ‘Wally” Harmon (C/O ’28) sharing the majority of targets. Another standout performance on the day came from rising senior gadget man Rasheed Lamar. Lamar recorded a few nice grabs today, including a lone uncontested score that would put the icing on the cake and a cherry on top for the Bulls’ championship run.
Defensively, the Bulls’ plethora of ball hawks came out to play. Over the middle, linebackers Maxwell Reid and recent Liberty commit Damari Jerry both made nice plays on the ball, using their natural physicality to box out receivers and break up passes. In the secondary, 4-Star Texas A&M commit Loia Valade continues to shine in his introduction to the 561. Valade completely shut down the boundary and recorded a diving PBU on a goal line fade in the Title game. Another stand out performance came from S Delorean Airall, who officially committed to UNLV moments after the Tournament ended. Airall spear headed the no fly zone over top and recorded a handful of nice breakups own the day.
Following the Tournament, I spoke with QB Trey Moran and Assistant Coach Chris Touze, who led West Boca’s A team all day to reflect on this afternoon’s performance.
“I told our boys to go out and execute, that was the main thing….When we lock in and execute nobody can mess with us.” Coach Touze stated.
“We know the West Boca standard. We knew we’d go out and win the whole thing, that’s just the West Boca standard.” QB1 Moran shared.
